Dr. Matthew M. Sheppard D.M.D.

 Dr. Sheppard grew up in Lake Oswego. He graduated locally from Lakeridge High School, then at Linfield College, followed by Oregon Health Science University in 2007.
Why I entered the dental field?
Dr. Sheppard is a dedicated and talented general and cosmetic dentist. He enjoys serving all ages of the community. He brings a unique attention to detail for every person in his practice making sure every patient leaves the office having a better understanding of their oral health. Some of the many reasons Dr. Sheppard entered into the dental field: being active and involved in the community, along with the ability and time to help people with kindness and compassion.
Why I settled In Oregon?
Dr. Sheppard has practiced in a few different states throughout the years, with many other doctors that have helped him grow, expand, and refine his skills. Ultimately Dr. Sheppard decided to move back to Oregon to open his own private practice. At the same time his childhood dentist, Dr. John Eckmann was set to retire and sell his practice. This ended up being the perfect place to continue Dr. Sheppard’s dental journey. The practice has grown quite a bit over the last few years and even moved to this new location. Dr. Sheppard feels so fortunate to have built a wonderful practice with an amazing team that shows up every day and works hard to care for the patients he serves.
Dr. Sheppard continues his lifelong learning by attending numerous conferences and lectures on the most recent technology, recommendations, and procedures to most effectively treat his patients. Dr. Sheppard is a member of the American Dental Association, as well as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Oregon Dental Association, Clackamas County Dental Society, Multnomah County Dental Society, and the International Team for Implantology. He has volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity and for Give Kids a Smile along with other various charities.
 In September 2020, Dr. Sheppard married his beautiful wife, Janelle. In March of 2022, they welcomed their first child, a son, John Joseph “JJ” Sheppard. In May of 2023 they welcomed their second child, a daughter, Grace Laural Sheppard. Dr. Sheppard and his family reside in Lake Oswego and he keeps himself pretty busy these days when he’s not at the office. He loves being with his family watching his children grow, learn, play and explore. He has shared that being a husband and father is one of the greatest fulfillments and joys of his life. Dr. Sheppard also still finds time to enjoy all things sports. He played many sports throughout High school and College and loves talking about his favorite teams with you during a visit to the office.
